Participate in the analysis of complex files, particularly regarding admissibility, liability, settlement options, strategies, and negotiations toward resolution.
Provide fair and equitable settlements, taking into account company standards and policies as well as applicable laws and regulations based on the location of the loss.
Provide technical support to claims adjusters and experts on matters such as policy interpretation, settlement negotiations, determination of liability, and litigation risks.
Contribute to the development of technical training materials and deliver training sessions to claims experts to support their skills development.
Review monthly audits to identify coaching opportunities.
Collaborate with the management team to evaluate surcharge campaign results and develop action plans.
Establish and maintain productive business relationships with underwriting, risk control, and other operational teams.

Requirements

College diploma or university degree
Hold a valid 5a license from the AMF (Autorité des marchés financiers)
Minimum of 7 years of experience in claims, preferably in transport and marine sectors
Knowledge of legal processes and the rule of law
Technical expertise in transportation, cargo, contamination, and liability
Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage priorities
Holding or working toward a Professional Accredited in Insurance (PAA) designation is an asset
Bilingual (French and English)
