About the role

  • Develop, maintain, and influence decisions on climate scientific roadmap underwriting structure & funnel, rating and system designs to future proof growth and resiliency in Personal Property.
  • Develop methods to inspire and build a highly effective multi-disciplinary and engaged team composed of actuaries & corporate UWs capable of meeting the current and future needs through effective leadership.
  • Develop, recommend, and implement leadership strategies, organizational structure, and processes/technology improvement initiatives.
  • Lead working groups involving multiple stakeholders with an ability to facilitate and influence direction.
  • Plan and oversee the execution of projects and strive for continuous improvement in Personal Lines’ deployment quality.
  • Ensure the team is productive and continuously works to improve the processes and tools.
  • Manage performance reviews, training and coaching for group members to meet the company’s strategic objectives.
  • Act as a key stakeholder for large-scale projects, establishing and translating conceptual needs into concrete and clear specifications and participating in the development and tracking of deliverables.
  • Represent the Corporate PL function on various company task forces and act as the point of contact for other business units.

Requirements

  • University degree in Mathematics or Actuarial Science or any combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • Job-specific designation: FCAS an asset.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience, including 2 years of coaching (major asset).
  • Strong skills and knowledge of actuarial techniques.
  • Leading with vision and values.
  • Strong knowledge of personal lines products and systems.

  • Strong communication time management and organizational skills.
