About the role
- Responsible for the day-to-day management of restricted insurance agency licensing activities
- Provide guidance to staff and review licensing applications
- Ensure understanding of obligations within the regulatory framework
- Lead complex regulatory licensing cases
- Mentor and support unit staff
- Facilitate regular team meetings
- Handle escalated licensing inquiries and disputes
- Monitor and report on trends in licensing
- Develop policies and processes related to applications and reviews
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years' experience in regulatory, financial services, or related fields
- Post-secondary degree in a related field such as business administration, or equivalent experience
- 3 years of management experience
- Experience in interpreting, implementing and developing regulatory frameworks
- Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Excellent oral and written communication abilities
- Strong analytical and report writing skills
- Understanding how business corporate structures are designed and established
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Excellent time management skills
- Demonstrated analytical and judgment skills
- Ability to organize large volumes of work and deal with several concurrent tasks
