About the role

  • Lead the Delivery team responsible for creating a seamless experience to deliver orders from grocery stores to customers on time with high quality.
  • Enhance customer satisfaction, reduce delivery failures, and foster a delightful Instacart delivery experience.
  • Drive strategy and technical trajectories for the perfect delivery framework, including proactive issue detection using AI/ML and efficient reverse logistics.
  • Lead a 7-10 person full-stack + mobile team with hands-on technical guidance.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, Data, ML, and senior leadership to deliver complex projects on ambitious timelines.
  • Recruit, develop, and nurture top technical talent while making crucial technical decisions and defining the roadmap.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience managing teams of software engineers.
  • Adaptive, effective leadership in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working proactively in a dynamic environment, making difficult prioritization decisions.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Excellent product intuition and business competence to drive innovation.
  • Ability to balance business needs and a sense of urgency, while delivering high-quality solutions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; effective cross-functional leadership.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field.
  • Preferred: Experience working with ML / LLM systems.
  • Preferred: Experience with Datadog or other Observability systems.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with Snowflake.
