About the role
- Preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements for the InnPower Group of Companies in accordance with current IFRS and Regulatory Accounting standards
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end close procedures, including posting recurring journals, monthly account reconciliations, development charges, balance sheet reporting, etc.
- Supporting month-end and year-end activities, including assisting in the preparation of the year-end audits and budgets
- Supports the Finance and Regulatory department with maintaining timely financial and accounting records in compliance with general accounting guidance
- Preparation of reports/analysis for Regulatory, Operations and Engineering as required
- Analyze and develop financing plans for large scale capital projects
- Maintain shared services cost allocations and prepares lease accounting reconciliations
Requirements
- 3+ years of progressive financial experience, focused on financial analysis and reporting
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field required
- Strong understanding of IFRS, Development Charges Act and Regulatory requirements
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and Word
- Excellent analytical skills
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Completion of Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) is considered an asset
