About the role

  • Preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements for the InnPower Group of Companies in accordance with current IFRS and Regulatory Accounting standards
  • Ensure timely and accurate month-end close procedures, including posting recurring journals, monthly account reconciliations, development charges, balance sheet reporting, etc.
  • Supporting month-end and year-end activities, including assisting in the preparation of the year-end audits and budgets
  • Supports the Finance and Regulatory department with maintaining timely financial and accounting records in compliance with general accounting guidance
  • Preparation of reports/analysis for Regulatory, Operations and Engineering as required
  • Analyze and develop financing plans for large scale capital projects
  • Maintain shared services cost allocations and prepares lease accounting reconciliations

Requirements

  • 3+ years of progressive financial experience, focused on financial analysis and reporting
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or related field required
  • Strong understanding of IFRS, Development Charges Act and Regulatory requirements
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and Word
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Completion of Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) is considered an asset
