About the role

  • Greet clients and patients warmly in a professional, friendly manner
  • Answer phones, schedule appointments, and manage client communications
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical records using veterinary practice software
  • Explain treatment plans, billing, and services clearly and compassionately
  • Provide emotional support to clients during both routine and emergency visits
  • Handle client check-in and check-out, invoicing, and payment processing
  • Assist in processing and preparing prescriptions under the supervision of a licensed veterinarian (DVM)
  • Accurately label, fill, and dispense medications following all safety protocols
  • Maintain proper documentation, inventory, and storage of medications
  • Communicate medication instructions as directed by the veterinarian
  • Support compliance with veterinary pharmacy regulations and guidelines

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years experience in a veterinary clinic, animal hospital, or medical office setting
  • Prior work as a veterinary receptionist, client care coordinator, or front desk associate
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Calm, compassionate demeanor with strong emotional intelligence
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish) preferred
  • Weekend availability required
  • Not an entry-level veterinary position; applicants must have prior experience in a client-facing role in the veterinary or healthcare field
  • Bonus Skills (Preferred but not required):
  • Familiarity with veterinary software (e.g., Cornerstone, AVImark, ezyVet)
  • Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and pet care procedures
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and multitask in emergency situations.
