About the role
- Provide medical leadership for the practice and create a positive teamwork environment.
- Manage associate veterinarians and support veterinarian staff in personal development of medical and administrative needs.
- Ensure regulatory compliance related to the practice of veterinary medicine and develop/monitor compliance protocols.
- Lead the staff and practice by growing the team, holding meetings, conducting annual reviews, and mentoring staff.
- Partner with the Regional Operations Manager and Practice Manager to ensure compliance, assist in annual planning strategy, and develop a vision for clinic growth.
- Partner with hospital leadership to ensure a culture of quality medicine, exceptional client service, and financial success for the clinic.
Requirements
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, VMD, or equivalent, from an accredited university
- Licensure in good standing to practice in the state of Texas.
- Ideally, 5+ years of veterinary medicine experience
- Positive and effective leadership abilities
- Ability to manage staff and outcomes with emotional intelligence
- Commitment to practicing the highest standard of medicine and upholding the veterinary code of ethics
- Delegation of tasks and achieving results with practice team members
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
