About the role
- Collect, clean, and analyze large healthcare datasets using statistical and data analysis techniques, including medical claims/encounter data, pharmacy, and patient registries.
- Take the lead to conduct descriptive and inferential statistical analyses to assess healthcare utilization patterns, treatment effectiveness, cost-effectiveness, and patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with internal team and external client to design and execute HEOR studies, ensuring alignment with research objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Develop quality measures (HEDIS, STAR, etc.) and reporting tools to support the client’s requirements
- Generate comprehensive reports, presentations, and visualizations to ensure high quality of deliverables and effectively communicate findings to decision-makers.
- Support growth of the business through the development of strong client relationships.
- Stay abreast of emerging trends, methodologies, and best practices in HEOR and healthcare data analytics, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives within the organization.
- Adhere to data privacy and regulatory guidelines, ensuring the ethical and secure handling of sensitive healthcare information.
Requirements
- Formal training in statistics, mathematics, epidemiology, health economics, public health, or a related field.
- An advanced degree (e.g., Master's or PhD) in quantitative fields such as Health Economics, statistics, Operational Research, Mathematics, data science, Biostatistics, or epidemiology is preferred.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience in healthcare data analysis, preferably within the HEOR, medical device, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology.
- Proficiency in statistical software such as SAS, R, STATA, or Python, with a strong understanding of data manipulation, regression analysis, and predictive modeling techniques.
- Familiarity with healthcare databases and coding systems (e.g., ICD, CPT, HCPCS). Experience/knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid data is preferred.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex healthcare data and generate actionable insights.
