About the role
- Drives the strategy and implements a best in class safety and sustainability culture
- Collaborates with the executive leadership team and supports operational teams in EHS activities, programs, and incident prevention
- Responsible for creating and implementing safety and sustainability programs, policies, training, and procedures
- Builds positive, collaborative relationships at all levels of the CSS North America Manufacturing, Service, RD and Warehouse sites
- Validates data accuracy, analyzes trends and delivers reports in a timely manner
- Manages all environmental risks including waste, water and air emissions to ensure compliance
- Leads efforts in continuous process improvement across the entire Region
- Guides site emergency response teams to ensure appropriate training in emergency response, spill response, disaster preparedness and crisis management
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Sciences/Engineering, Occupational Safety, Life Safety, Industrial Hygiene or equivalent; advanced degree preferred
- One or more safety and/or environmental-related or environmental professional certifications desired (i.e. CHMM, CIH or CSP)
- 10+ years of experience with an emphasis in environmental, health and safety and sustainability management in a heavy manufacturing, industrial and service environment
- 3+ years of experience as an effective leader, motivator and coach
- Lean manufacturing experience preferred
