About the role

  • Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring all journal entries and reconciliations are completed timely.
  • Apply ASC 606 standards to our revenue streams, managing deferred revenue and complex contract terms.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements for management review.
  • Assist with the transition of our accounting function from an outsourcing to an in-sourcing model.
  • Assist with the implementation & testing of new accounting systems & with the development of a SOX framework.
  • Own Accounts Receivable (A/R) and assist with payroll as needed.
  • Assist in managing equity-based compensation accounting and cap table maintenance via platforms like Carta.
  • Monitor state nexus and ensure compliance with sales tax and franchise tax filings.
  • Prepare schedules and provide support for external audits.
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and participate in special projects as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting.
  • 4+ years of relevant accounting experience, with a solid foundation in US GAAP and Series A/B startup experience is the 'gold standard' for this role.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in financial reporting and accounting operations.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks while maintaining high attention to detail.
  • Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills and a focus on accuracy.
  • Interest in leveraging new technologies and automation to drive efficiency.
  • Manufacturing & Project Accounting experience are a plus.
