About the role

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs that power Eva’s healthcare interactions.
  • Collaborate closely with Data Science, Frontend, and Infrastructure teams to bring AI and NLP solutions into production.
  • Make technical tradeoffs to balance impact, user experience, and long-term scalability.
  • Champion engineering best practices, including reducing technical debt and improving reliability.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to growing a high-performing engineering culture.
  • Partner with product managers, designers, and analysts to deeply understand user needs and deliver impactful solutions.
  • Contribute to both short- and long-term technical roadmaps.

Requirements

  • 7-10+ years of backend engineering experience, with a track record of shipping and scaling production systems.
  • Strong expertise in backend languages (e.g., Go, Python, Java, C++).
  • Hands-on experience with cloud services (AWS, GCP) and modern DevOps practices.
  • Solid foundation in designing APIs and integrating backend services.
  • Deep understanding of database technologies (SQL and NoSQL), with experience optimizing performance.
  • Curiosity about ML/NLP concepts and interest in applying them at scale.
  • Strong cross-functional communication skills and experience collaborating in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset: thrive in ambiguity, take initiative, and drive projects end to end.
