About the role
- Own and execute indie.io's social media strategy across platforms
- Develop a cohesive brand voice that balances our publisher identity with the unique tone of individual games
- Plan and maintain a rolling social content calendar across a large, active catalog
- Track performance metrics (reach, engagement, growth, click-throughs) across platforms
- Promote multiple games concurrently across different lifecycle stages (announcement, launch, updates, discounts, long-tail support)
- Work closely with Marketing Managers and our in-house Creative teams to align messaging, beats, content production, and timing
- Identify scalable ways to spotlight games across multiple beats
- Maintain relationships with indie.io developers, cross-promoting their content and providing guidance on content strategies
- Engage with players, developers, and fans in comments, replies, DMs, and community spaces
- Act as a light-touch community manager: surfacing feedback, flagging sentiment shifts, and escalating issues when needed
- Help set expectations and best practices for developer-facing social and community interactions
- Ideate, write, and publish platform-native content (including short-form video concepts, memes, threads, and reactive posts)
- Stay current on gaming, internet, and platform trends
- Collaborate with internal designers, editors, and video teams to scale content production efficiently
Requirements
- 3–4 years of experience in social media and/or community management
- Strong understanding of, and passion for, gaming culture, indie games, and player communities
- Proven experience managing multiple brands, products, or content streams at once
- Excellent written communication skills and sharp content judgment
- Comfort working independently and making decisions in a fast-moving environment
- Experience collaborating cross-functionally with marketing, creative, and product teams
- Experience utilizing social media management & intelligence platforms
- Familiarity with Discord moderation and community tools is a plus
- Experience coordinating with content creators or influencer teams is not required, but a plus.
