About the role
- Lead the development, negotiation, and execution of provider contracts, ensuring terms meet organizational and regulatory standards.
- Manage ongoing provider relations to address inquiries, resolve disputes, and maintain positive partnerships.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including legal, compliance, finance, and operations to support contracting and provider service initiatives.
- Monitor contract performance metrics and provider network adequacy to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to provider contracting and network management.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures related to provider services and contracting activities.
- Supervise and mentor team members, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental goals.
- Prepare reports and presentations for senior leadership regarding provider network status, contract negotiations, and service issues.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in provider contracting, network management, or healthcare provider relations.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare regulations, payer-provider contracting, and managed care principles.
- Demonstrated experience in contract negotiation and management.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant experience may substitute for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
