About the role
- Conduct comprehensive market pricing and analysis by benchmarking jobs against external survey data (such as Radford and Mercer) and internal frameworks to ensure market competitiveness and define competitive salary ranges.
- Manage and execute the complete annual compensation review cycle, including salary increases, bonus payouts, and equity awards, from data preparation and system readiness to manager support and employee communication.
- Perform in-depth job evaluations for new and existing roles, including analysis of job descriptions and assigning them to the appropriate level in our job architecture to ensure internal equity.
- Develop sophisticated cost models to analyze the financial impact of proposed compensation adjustments, new hire offers, and potential changes to compensation structures or incentive plans.
- Act as a key partner in the design, administration, and communication of various variable incentive plans, ensuring that calculations are accurate and payments are delivered on time.
- Participate in and submit data to third-party compensation surveys to ensure our market data remains current and relevant.
- Prepare and deliver reports and dashboards on key compensation metrics to People leadership and business managers, providing actionable insights.
- Support the day-to-day plan oversight of all U.S. and global benefits programs, including health (medical, dental, vision), life and disability insurance, retirement plans (401k, pension), and wellness initiatives.
- Partner with benefits vendors and brokers to ensure a high level of service, troubleshoot claim and eligibility issues, and manage data integrations.
- Lead the planning and execution of the annual open enrollment process, including developing communication materials, hosting employee information sessions, and ensuring accurate system configuration and data transfer.
- Oversee leave of absence administration in partnership with our third-party administrator, providing guidance to employees and managers on policies and processes for FMLA, disability, and other leave types.
- Ensure all benefits programs comply with regulatory requirements (e.g., ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA) by assisting with required notices, reporting (e.g., 5500s), and audits.
- Continuously review and benchmark our benefits offerings to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure they remain competitive and aligned with employee needs and company culture.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or another quantitative field or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of dedicated experience in an analytical role focusing on compensation and/or benefits.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is essential; you must be comfortable building complex formulas, pivot tables, and data models to analyze large datasets.
- Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated ability to draw insights from data.
- Impeccable attention to detail and a steadfast commitment to accuracy and data integrity.
- Proven ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with the utmost discretion and professionalism.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics (like compensation philosophy and benefits plans) in a clear and concise manner.
- Direct experience working with compensation survey data from major providers such as Radford or Mercer (preferred).
- Hands-on experience with a modern People Technology platform, with a strong preference for Workday (preferred).
- Prior involvement in administering annual compensation cycles (merit, bonus, equity) (preferred).
- Experience in benefits administration, including vendor management and open enrollment support (preferred).
- Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment (preferred).
