About the role
- We’re looking for an experienced Development Producer to own the editorial, IP and content strategy side of our podcast output, including audio and video assets.
- You’ll be the main editorial voice for podcasts across the business and the person our brands turn to for content direction, best practice and development support.
- You’ll work closely with brand leads across the business to develop strong, distinctive podcast ideas that align with their editorial missions and commercial goals.
- This will involve pitching new concepts, shaping formats, refining existing shows and helping brands understand how they can perform well in the podcast space.
- You’ll be responsible for maintaining regular catch-ups with brand teams to ensure content quality, consistency and direction are on track.
- You’ll develop clear content briefs, advise on format, tone, hosts and structure, and help brands make smart decisions about what will resonate with audiences.
- A core part of this role is owning our audience development goals for podcasts.
Requirements
- Lead editorial strategy and content development for podcasts across all brands
- Develop new podcast concepts, formats and IP in collaboration with brand teams
- Own content best practice and platform guidance (Apple, Spotify, YouTube and others)
- Maintain regular catch-ups with brand leads on content direction and quality
- Create and develop clear content briefs for new and existing shows
- Work closely with the Commercial Head of Audio and Podcast Production Lead to ensure ideas are within budget and scope
- Own audience development goals and strategy for podcasts
- Line manage audience development staff and oversee their operations
- Use audience insight and platform performance to inform content decisions
- Collaborate with the editorial support unit on long-term IP development
