About the role
- Design, develop, and enhance new and existing products/product lines.
- Analyze market trends, customer requirements, and feedback to develop product concepts in 3D CAD.
- Evaluate and recommend specifications and ensure products meet technical and functional requirements.
- Recommend and follow reliable, efficient, and cost-effective procedures.
- Create technical drawings and designs that are manufacturable and provide installation drawings and supporting documentation for installation in the field.
- Perform feasibility, functional, and quality testing of designs.
- Work closely with other engineers to align designs with production capabilities and compliance standards and ensure project milestones and timelines are met.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience required
- 2-4 years of related product design experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Proficient in 3D CAD software, preferably AutoDesk Inventor and AutoDesk Vault
- Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and production techniques, specifically in steel and sheet metal manufacturing environments
- Strong organizational, critical thinking, communication, and people skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to accommodate periodic weekend or evening work
