About the role

  • lead and manage large, complex civil engineering projects
  • provide project direction, technical expertise, and innovative solutions
  • collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • oversee project delivery from concept through construction
  • mentor staff and develop client relationships
  • coordinate, oversee, and manage projects of varying size and complexity
  • serve as the primary point of contact for teams and clients
  • assist with design scopes of work, fee calculations, and contract reviews for proposal generation
  • develop project schedules, set milestones, and manage deadlines
  • prepare monthly billings, submit financial information, and update billing projections and completion percentages
  • ensure designs meet owner standards, IMEG standards, and code requirements; oversee quality control and construction support
  • lead and document progress meetings
  • coordinate project scheduling
  • provide meeting documentation
  • participate in project interviews and presentations
  • respond to and resolve client and construction concerns
  • manage change orders
  • obtain necessary approvals
  • mentor, train, motivate, and lead team members
  • build, maintain, and develop client relationships

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent, required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License required
  • 10 years of experience minimum required, 12 preferred, in the building design consulting industry
  • Demonstrated leadership traits in the Project Management career path
  • Adept in the technical aspects of one’s discipline
  • Mastery of technical and analytical skills including proficiency in the Civil Engineering field
  • Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise
  • Ability to sell work and develop client relationships
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Eagerness to adapt to new challenges
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays
