About the role
- lead and manage large, complex civil engineering projects
- provide project direction, technical expertise, and innovative solutions
- collaborate with cross-functional teams
- oversee project delivery from concept through construction
- mentor staff and develop client relationships
- coordinate, oversee, and manage projects of varying size and complexity
- serve as the primary point of contact for teams and clients
- assist with design scopes of work, fee calculations, and contract reviews for proposal generation
- develop project schedules, set milestones, and manage deadlines
- prepare monthly billings, submit financial information, and update billing projections and completion percentages
- ensure designs meet owner standards, IMEG standards, and code requirements; oversee quality control and construction support
- lead and document progress meetings
- coordinate project scheduling
- provide meeting documentation
- participate in project interviews and presentations
- respond to and resolve client and construction concerns
- manage change orders
- obtain necessary approvals
- mentor, train, motivate, and lead team members
- build, maintain, and develop client relationships
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent, required
- Professional Engineer (PE) License required
- 10 years of experience minimum required, 12 preferred, in the building design consulting industry
- Demonstrated leadership traits in the Project Management career path
- Adept in the technical aspects of one’s discipline
- Mastery of technical and analytical skills including proficiency in the Civil Engineering field
- Ability to perform final quality control check in their area of expertise
- Ability to sell work and develop client relationships
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Eagerness to adapt to new challenges
- Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays
