About the role
- Develop financial models/business cases to demonstrate the market opportunity for new products and the potential financial return over a 5+ year time horizon: Collaborating across multiple Commercial/marketing/Finance stakeholders to align on risk and opportunities, including pressure-testing bottoms-up build assumptions of regional market adoption by customer type and by applications, evaluation of funnel metrics, and product launch-enablement Opex requirements
- Own governance for required processes and standardized financial deliverables.
- Lead the Incremental Cash Flow analysis and develop the NPV narrative.
- Own and vet scenario and sensitivity analysis on revenue and margin impacts
- Develop deep understanding of the market models and Illumina products
- Provide financial support for Global Product Management teams in reporting quarterly sales results (eQBR), evaluating opportunities around portfolio investments and trade-offs (SPAC & PAC) and supporting strategic decision-making (Annual Strat Plan & Strategic Chapters)
- Assist in development and execution of pricing strategy across product line/regions by providing financial analyses for new product introductions’ pricing and promotions
- Support Global Product Management and Portfolio Strategy teams by performing other tasks/ad hoc analyses needed to support day-to-day operations of the product management team, including on-market product analyses (as ad-hoc or as part of PAC)
- Provide finance support and analysis in collaboration with Strategy and Partnership Finance teams for M&A or partnerships deals
Requirements
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8 years of related experience, with 1-3 years of Management experience.
- Demonstrated ability to develop complex financial models including quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Able to take complex or ambiguous business scenarios and provide succinct summaries that enable non-finance professionals to understand key relationships, impacts, and strategic options
- Proven ability to evaluate and solve complex problems and consider the strategic implications of different business approaches
- Strong working knowledge of the main elements and drivers of income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Exceptional interpersonal soft skills, able to establish strong rapport and partnerships at all levels of the organization and across various functions including Marketing, Commercial, R&D, Operations, and Business Developments
- Excellent written communication and project management skills
- Commitment to accuracy and quality while meeting multiple goals or deadlines
- Self-directed and able to work well in a team environment
- Strong hands-on experience with Tableau, PowerBI, or other analytics systems is a plus
