About the role
- Lead and manage the SAP development team, ensuring delivery of high-quality, robust solutions that support business objectives and drive operational excellence.
- Maintain and evolve SAP CoE code/config reviews, development, integration, and testing guidelines.
- Ensure documentation completeness for all technical objects and testing artifacts.
- Provide governance oversight for vendor or AMS-delivered developments.
- Define, implement, and enforce Center of Excellence (CoE) standards and best practices for SAP development.
- Conduct and manage regular code and configuration reviews to ensure high quality and compliance with standards.
- Drive innovation by exploring and implementing AI solutions that enhance business and technical SAP processes.
- Partner with technical teams to evaluate and deploy AI/ML capabilities in SAP and identify automation opportunities.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of SAP technical professionals; manage team performance and set clear goals.
- Oversee all SAP development activities including ABAP programming, custom enhancements, and system modifications.
- Manage technical designs, estimations, delivery timelines, and SAP transports (creation, sequencing, migration) ensuring proper dependency management and post-migration validation.
- Lead SAP integration efforts using CPI, BTP, and related middleware tools; oversee integration architecture, design, implementation, and support.
- Develop and oversee comprehensive testing strategies including unit, integration, regression, and UAT; ensure test plans and scripts are created and executed.
- Serve as primary point of contact for SAP development matters; collaborate with project managers, architects, and functional teams; communicate progress, risks, and issues.
- Consistently seek opportunities to improve and simplify support processes; drive automation to increase efficiency and optimize operational costs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; Master’s preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in SAP development and integration, including hands-on ABAP, CPI, and BTP.
- 5+ years of team leadership or management experience.
- Strong understanding of SAP CoE standards, SDLC, and quality assurance practices.
- Experience with SAP testing strategies and tools.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- SAP Certification(s) in development or integration (preferred).
- Experience in Agile/Scrum project environments (preferred).
- Knowledge of S/4HANA, Fiori, or other advanced SAP technologies (preferred).
