About the role

  • Oversee end-to-end payroll processing for on-roll, contractual, and consultant employees across all business units with 100% accuracy.
  • Validate salary inputs such as attendance, overtime, shift allowances, hires, leavers, incentives, bonuses, reimbursements and deductions before payroll closure.
  • Ensure timely disbursement of salaries, full & final settlements.
  • Conduct monthly payroll audits and reconcile payroll with Finance.
  • Generate monthly compliance and payroll MIS reports (cost sheets, dashboards, statutory trackers).
  • Ensure issuance of payslips, Form 16, TDS computations, and support year-end tax activities.
  • Lead internal and external audits related to payroll.
  • Adhere to strict payroll cut-off deadlines with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Handle employee queries related to payroll, tax deductions, and benefits.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with statutory laws including PF, ESI, PT, LWF, Bonus and Gratuity.
  • Maintain statutory registers as required under applicable acts.
  • Liaison with internal and external auditors to facilitate payroll audits.
  • File timely returns (Form 24Q, PF returns, etc.) and ensure adherence to labor laws and statutory timelines.
  • Manage compliance requirements under CLRAregistration/renewal of Principal Employer & Contractor licenses.
  • Verify and track all contractor/vendor compliances including PF, ESIC, PT, Minimum Wages, and LWF.
  • Maintain a monthly compliance dashboard for internal leadership review.
  • Conduct periodic vendor audits and ensure compliance certificates (e.g., Form V, Form XII, wage registers).
  • Handle labour inspections, respond to notices, prepare documents, and support legal teams.
  • Maintain all statutory documentation for audit readiness.
  • Identify gaps and drive automation of payroll processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with IT and HRIS teams for system enhancements (SAP, Keka).

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of payroll processes, taxation, and labor law compliance.
  • Advanced Excel and analytical skills.
  • High proficiency with payroll systems (e.g. SAP Success Factor, Keka, Darwin Box)
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Strong understanding of Indian labour laws, statutory filings, registers, and audit procedures.
