About the role

  • Provide administrative and logistical support to the Careers Manager and Artist and Creative Development Manager across all departmental events and initiatives, including in-curriculum and extracurricular events and project funding initiatives, with a focus on Film, Games, Business & Marketing pathways.
  • Advertise student and graduate opportunities - particularly those within film, games, business, marketing, creative production, and associated sectors including social media, email, and the Careers+ jobs board.
  • Monitoring the departmental inbox dealing with routine and non-standard queries, including those which require an understanding of information outside the immediate work area and knowing who else to involve.
  • Liaise with the Creative Assistant to ensure that promotional collateral is provided to Marketing team for scheduling promotion across platforms.
  • Conduct research into film, games, business, marketing, and related wider creative industries to develop targeted resources (e.g., for international students, freelancers, entrepreneurial students, and those meeting Access & Participation criteria).
  • Attend graduation and open day events where appropriate.
  • Develop engagement with students and alumni across all Creative Careers Team activity, with a specific focus on Film & Games and Business & Marketing students, particularly final-year students and recent graduates (0-18 months) on targeted activity aligned with Graduate Outcomes strategy. Communicate through institutional platforms as well as dedicated Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn channels.
  • Ensure that final year students from Film, Games, Business & Marketing have a meaningful engagement with the Creative Careers Team so that they can effectively articulate and evidence their employability skills prior to the completion of their studies through targeted engagement with academic colleagues and other teams across AD Education UK.
  • Work with the Creative Careers Team to identify innovative ways to target and engage Film, Games, Business & Marketing cohorts within the AD Education UK student and alumni community, based on data and feedback and with a particular focus on final year students and engaging these in embedded industry engagement and employability focused interventions.
  • Work in close liaison with the Access & Participation Manager and Student Voice and Communications Coordinator to target specific groups and cohorts of students to aid with progression.
  • Assist with the delivery of a focused alumni mentoring scheme focused on matching final year graduates with alumni working in areas of interest as well as administration of the Industry Mentoring Scheme focused on final year students.
  • Work with the Careers Manager to develop and deliver the Alumni programme of support for recent graduates and liaise with relevant departments to ensure logistics for this are organized and promoted effectively.
  • Work with the Careers Manager to provide administrative support for Alumni Events and Initiatives.
  • Work with the Artist and Creative Development Manager to provide administrative support for the Careers Festival and Industry 1-2-1 Provision.
  • Work alongside the Careers Officer (South) and deliver an effective comms plan for both Students & Alumni.

Requirements

  • Proven interest in and knowledge of contemporary creative industries with a strong understanding of film, games, business, and marketing sectors is essential.
  • Interest in (and experience of) higher education sector (especially contemporary creative education) is desirable.
  • Understanding of AD Education UK’s student and alumni community, including the particular interests of Film, Games, Business & Marketing cohorts, is desirable.
  • Experience of using social media for promotional purposes (ideally using scheduling programmes) is preferred.
  • Previous experience of higher education (especially focused on creative industries) is desirable.
  • Degree graduate preferred
