About the role
- Develop and conduct objective brake testing and data analysis
- Support development of North America specific braking aspects including pedal feel and regenerative braking controls
- Develop in-house testing, specify and procure test specific instrumentation as needed
- Conduct objective benchmarking of competitive vehicles and quantify Hyundai/Kia/Genesis products at specified development gateway points
- Support customer preference studies and turn subjective targets developed in benchmarking activities into measurable development parameters
- Assist in planning and monitoring of department budget
- Create and present technical reports
- Perform additional projects as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field of study
- Knowledge of Automotive Industry engineering and manufacturing
- Knowledge of electrified vehicle architecture, brake by wire and regenerative braking systems
- Expert knowledge of Automotive Vehicle Dynamic Brake evaluation principles and practices
- Expert knowledge of SAE and FMVSS test procedures and methods related to automotive braking and ability to personally conduct such testing
- Knowledge of Project Management principles and practices
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and capability
- 3+ years in Vehicle Dynamics testing and evaluation
- 5+ years in brake engineering, test and development
- Experience working in culturally diverse team environment
- Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record
- Documented professional high performance driving experience
