About the role

  • Develop and conduct objective brake testing and data analysis
  • Support development of North America specific braking aspects including pedal feel and regenerative braking controls
  • Develop in-house testing, specify and procure test specific instrumentation as needed
  • Conduct objective benchmarking of competitive vehicles and quantify Hyundai/Kia/Genesis products at specified development gateway points
  • Support customer preference studies and turn subjective targets developed in benchmarking activities into measurable development parameters
  • Assist in planning and monitoring of department budget
  • Create and present technical reports
  • Perform additional projects as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a related field of study
  • Knowledge of Automotive Industry engineering and manufacturing
  • Knowledge of electrified vehicle architecture, brake by wire and regenerative braking systems
  • Expert knowledge of Automotive Vehicle Dynamic Brake evaluation principles and practices
  • Expert knowledge of SAE and FMVSS test procedures and methods related to automotive braking and ability to personally conduct such testing
  • Knowledge of Project Management principles and practices
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and capability
  • 3+ years in Vehicle Dynamics testing and evaluation
  • 5+ years in brake engineering, test and development
  • Experience working in culturally diverse team environment
  • Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record
  • Documented professional high performance driving experience
