About the role

  • Lead the development and prototyping of new vehicle control software algorithms for the NA market
  • Craft control concepts using advanced technologies, such as classical and modern control methods (e.g., AI, machine learning, etc.)
  • Improve Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis production controls by building, testing, and refining algorithms
  • Use simulation and model-based development tools, such as Matlab/Simulink, Simscape, GT-SUITE, CarMaker, CarSim, and ETAS
  • Write or auto-generate C code for integrating, compiling, flashing, and testing vehicle control software purposes
  • Utilize rapid control prototyping methodologies to verify algorithm concepts
  • Mentor junior engineers on best practices and facilitate on-the-job learning
  • Attend industry conferences and publish technical papers
  • Collaborate with tech companies and universities concerning vehicle control solutions
  • Collaborate with R&D Headquarters in South Korea to maintain global relationships

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, software engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or a related engineering discipline
  • Sound understanding of control theory and system dynamics
  • 7+ years of industry experience developing and deploying algorithms for motion control features
  • Knowledge of Model-Based Design in MATLAB/Simulink
  • Strong background in auto-code generation using Simulink
  • Proficiency in C/C++ and Python programming
  • Familiarity with embedded control software architecture
  • Experience using software engineering tools such as version control systems, build processes, and debuggers
  • Ability to explain technical topics to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Excellent time management, self-management, and organization skills
  • Strong written, oral, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Valid Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record.
