About the role

  • This internship is a hands-on introduction to the field of applied market research.
  • You will have the opportunity to work directly with seasoned researchers and contribute to work for clients like Disney, Toyota, and Starbucks.
  • Proactively learn the Hypothesis research process and standards
  • Observe and gain exposure to quantitative research methodologies, traditional statistical and modern machine learning techniques
  • Contribute to the development of in-house/client-facing data-driven deliverables (dashboards, modeling outputs, and data-driven report summaries)
  • Assist senior managers with tasks related to multiple phases of research projects, such as quality control, data accuracy, and consistency checks

Requirements

  • May be pursuing a degree/recently completed a degree in statistics, data science, quantitative psychology, business, or related fields
  • Have some experience in applied statistics and/or machine learning methods (experience beyond coursework is preferred, personal projects are great)
  • Some knowledge of programmatic coding (tell us what you like to work in and why! Can you code outside of generative AI?)
  • Some knowledge of classical statistical methodologies, machine learning techniques and their applications (e.g., EDA, linear modeling, classification modeling, tree-based approaches, data-reduction)
  • Ability to convert modeling outputs into compelling storytelling
  • Has strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills
  • Is proactive, dependable, and eager to contribute to a collaborative team
