About the role

  • Design and implement all development and fundraising activities to increase donations
  • Manage institutional and individual fundraising from various sources
  • Directly manage a Grant Associate, AmeriCorps VISTA participant, and an Administrative Assistant
  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of data in grants management system
  • Coordinate donor acknowledgments and stewardship
  • Increase direct donations from high net worth individuals
  • Write and submit funding proposals to foundations, corporations, and government agencies
  • Develop financial and programmatic progress reports for funders
  • Integrate strategic volunteerism with fundraising efforts
  • Guide Board Members to execute fundraising events
  • Advise CEO and Board on integrating development priorities with strategic plan

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of relevant, successful nonprofit development experience
  • Successful fundraising track record with direct experience in grant writing, grant management, individual donor solicitation, and donor relations
  • Bachelor’s degree required; related graduate or professional degree is a plus
  • Commitment to Hunger Free America’s mission to end hunger and knowledge of hunger/poverty issues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong proofreader and deadline-oriented
  • Proven ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders
  • Experience with CRM/donor management software required; familiarity with Salesforce or crowdfunding software is a plus
  • Experience managing other development staff is a plus
