Engineering Manager

• Reports to Associate Director of Engineering
• Balance technical oversight and people management with strategic team leadership
• Responsible for wellbeing and ongoing professional development of engineers
• Collaborate with delivery and commercial teams to ensure smooth running of the squad
• Anticipate and identify problems as they arise, addressing them yourself, or escalating as necessary
• Gather actionable feedback and deliver it to reports in a constructive manner
• Complete Performance Reviews and 1:1s for your reports
• Manage, coach and mentor your reports, supporting their development and career progression
• Represent your engineering team in meta-level discussions
• Lead a cross-functional squad, setting clear goals and creating a culture of accountability
• Facilitate ceremonies such as retrospectives and squad check-ins
• Collaborate with other engineering managers to ensure consistency in practices
