About the role
- Design, enhance, and support the ACAPS mainframe application within an agile squad environment
- Provide technical leadership within the agile squad and guide design and development decisions
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and operations teams to define system architectures and integrate solutions
- Apply test-driven development (TDD) principles and contribute to code reviews and communities of practice
- Implement automation and DevOps practices for mainframe systems and partner with operations to ensure stability and performance
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues impacting end-users or business processes
- Maintain compliance by documenting processes, applying controls, and aligning with audit requirements
- Stay current on industry trends, mainframe modernization, and banking technology standards
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)
- 5+ years of experience in Mainframe/ACAPS development
- Strong experience with COBOL
- Strong experience with JCL (Job Control Language)
- ACAPS expertise (Application Consumer and Payment System)
- Mainframe platform engineering experience
- Knowledge of object-oriented and functional programming design
- Familiarity with software development methodologies (Agile/Scrum preferred)
- Understanding of mainframe security and compliance best practices
- Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills
