About the role
- Support Hudl's Core Video team and all video needs
- Maintain and optimize the video encoding pipeline for cost-efficiency, scalability, and high quality
- Work with Hudl's video API to ensure pipeline performance and integration
- Act as a key technical leader: break down complex engineering problems, advocate best practices, and guide others
- Maintain efficiency with outcome-focused delivery and data-driven decisions
- Collaborate across disciplines to plan and deliver product enhancements
- Participate in and foster Agile/Scrum practices and ceremonies
- Mentor and coach engineers through implementation, code reviews, and pair programming
- Contribute to architectural proposals and technical direction
Requirements
- Extensive experience in full-stack engineering
- Experience with cloud-based systems/services
- Advocate of TDD and CI/CD
- Technical coaching experience: translating requirements, creating architectural proposals, breaking work into increments, guiding Engineers through implementation
- Collaborative, team-first mindset
- Mentor mentality: code review, pair programming, documentation
- Professional background (nice-to-have): C#, TypeScript, React, GraphQL, MongoDB and AWS
- Experience with media at scale (video encoding and on-demand rendering) (nice-to-have)
- Passion for sports (nice-to-have)
- Familiarity with hybrid or remote teams (nice-to-have)
- Location preference: lives near Lincoln or Omaha, Nebraska, or Lexington, Kentucky preferred; remote candidates in Kansas City, Chicago, Austin or Dallas considered
