Support all video needs at Hudl and maintain the video encoding pipeline
Work with the latest video API to ensure the pipeline is cost-efficient, scalable and provides the highest quality video to users
Be a key technical leader: break down complex engineering problems, advocate for best practices, and guide others
Maintain efficiency: focus on outcomes over outputs and ensure the team delivers high-impact work efficiently
Empower the team to make data-driven decisions and iterate quickly on feedback
Collaborate across disciplines: work closely with leaders from various disciplines to plan and deliver enhancements across our product suite
Foster Agile practices: participate actively in Scrum ceremonies and help maintain a strong team culture
Requirements
Strong technical proficiency: extensive experience in full-stack engineering and cloud-based systems/services; advocate of TDD and CI/CD; able to guide engineering practices across teams
Technical coaching experience: comfortable translating requirements, creating architectural proposals, breaking work into digestible increments, and guiding other Engineers through implementation
A collaborative, team-first mindset: willing to collaborate, provide input in technical discussions, pitch in, and provide quality feedback in code review
Mentor mentality: enjoys reviewing code, pair programming and documentation to help fellow Engineers grow
Professional background (nice-to-have) in C#, TypeScript, React, GraphQL, MongoDB and AWS
Experience with media at scale (nice-to-have): familiar with video encoding and on-demand rendering
Passion for sports (nice-to-have): interest in sports world or experience with sports technology/sports analytics
Familiarity with hybrid teams (nice-to-have): experience working with hybrid or remote teams
Location preference: lives near our offices in Lincoln or Omaha, Nebraska, or Lexington, Kentucky; open to remote candidates in Kansas City, Chicago, Austin or Dallas
