About the role

  • Own and evolve HubSpot’s AI Experience system: patterns, components, and design guidance for AI-powered features.
  • Partner with Trellis Design Systems and product teams to integrate AI-specific components into the broader design system.
  • Create foundational systems and reusable patterns rather than designing customer-facing flows directly.
  • Design and maintain AI patterns for feedback loops, transparency, settings, and trustworthy AI UX.
  • Shape governance, contribution models, and communication to ensure adoption and alignment.
  • Measure adoption and impact of the AI Experience system and iterate based on data and feedback.
  • Advocate for trust and usability in AI and contribute to the growth of the design organization through mentoring.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product design experience, ideally with contributions to design systems or platform-scale initiatives.
  • Strategic thinker able to move between high-level systems strategy and hands-on design craft.
  • Portfolio demonstrating ability to create scalable, reusable systems and translate emerging technologies into clear patterns.
  • Experience designing settings and configuration experiences that balance flexibility, usability, and trust.
  • Collaboration experience across product teams, engineering, and design systems to drive alignment and adoption.
  • Working understanding of common AI paradigms and interaction models (configuration, transparency, feedback loops, conversational flows).
  • Ability to measure adoption and iterate based on usage data; mentoring peers and raising design craft.
