About the role

  • Leading a mid-size engineering team in the implementation of strategic planning functions including product strategies, workforce requirements, and expense and capital budget proposals
  • Executing applied research or advanced development of new products, materials, or processes
  • Interacting with and providing updates to executive management and other departments on advanced technical issues
  • Keeping up to date on relevant technologies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Utilizing claim data analytics to drive systematic improvement
  • Addressing internal quality issues and communicating quality performance to site leaders
  • Assisting Product Managers with specification documents for products
  • Creating control plans to support new product development projects to help avoid problems that may occur
  • Developing and owning key measurable tracking, reporting, and actions to meet established targets
  • Identifying and providing opportunities for growth and development of team members
  • Facilitating product training for site employees as necessary

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering and/or computer science or equivalent
  • Supervisory experience (required)
  • 3-5 years of experience in a technical leadership role with strong management and leadership skills (required)
  • 5 years of experience in the design and development of products
  • Excellent computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Ability to read and understand Engineering drawings
  • Strong communication skills – verbal and written
  • Process improvement and data analytical skills preferred
