  • Work closely with scientists and engineers to develop state-of-the-art RFIC and MMIC circuits, subsystems and systems for a variety of applications such as electronic warfare, communications, radar and imaging.
  • Help lead and coordinate RFIC and MMIC design projects.
  • Solve customer problems, write invention disclosures, publish papers, brief customers, participate in proposal activities and assist in marketing HRL expertise.
  • Lead small design teams and coordinate testing, tapeouts, and foundry interactions.

Requirements

  • Experience with high-frequency circuit, electro-magnetic and system simulators such as Cadence, ADS, AWR, VSS, Sonnet and HFSS for design of RF and analog integrated circuit based on III-V, CMOS and Bi-CMOS technologies, passives components, modules and subsystems.
  • Multiple tapeouts with different CMOS/BiCMOS and/or III-V MMIC processes is a must.
  • Experience with RF network analyzer measurements and testing of RFIC or MMIC and module components is required.
  • Working knowledge of high frequency circuit/system simulators and CAD layout for different RFIC and/or III-V MMIC processes.
  • A working familiarity with common passive and active microwave structures and network analysis techniques.
  • Knowledge of module and subsystem operation/integration required.
  • Familiarity with CMOS/BiCMOS and/or III-V MMIC foundry technologies and their layout practices is required.
  • Understanding of device physics desired.
  • Knowledge of large signal measurements and load pull is a plus.
