About the role
- Lead global teams across climate, carbon reduction, forestry, renewables, life cycle assessment (LCA), and sustainability operations.
- Own development and execution of HP’s end-to-end decarbonization roadmap across Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions.
- Ensure sustainability requirements are embedded into product and service design through NPIs and NSIs.
- Drive cross-functional execution to meet HP’s external climate, deforestation-free, and circularity commitments.
- Provide executive leadership for HP’s Responsible Sourcing strategy, including human rights and environmental due diligence across the supply base.
- Oversee supplier sustainability performance, monitoring, and risk mitigation programs in partnership with Procurement and Supply Chain Responsibility teams.
- Ensure supplier alignment with HP requirements related to - Human rights and labor standards, Environmental performance (carbon, water, materials, forestry), Regulatory readiness (e.g., UFLPA, EU Battery Regulation, CSRD, emerging due-diligence regulations).
- Drive supplier capability-building, data quality, and continuous improvement to support HP’s sustainability and market-access commitments.
- Own governance and execution of HP’s sustainability reporting and disclosure processes, ensuring audit-ready, accurate, and timely reporting.
- Oversee sustainability data systems, metrics, and controls supporting internal management reporting and external disclosures.
- Lead responses to customer, investor, regulatory, and ratings-agency inquiries (e.g., CDP, DJSI, TCFD, SASB, CSRD).
- Partner with Finance, Legal, and Disclosure Committees to ensure alignment across sustainability, financial, and regulatory reporting.
- Lead and develop a global organization of sustainability subject-matter experts.
- Influence executives and senior leaders across HP with clear insights on sustainability risks, tradeoffs, and opportunities.
- Represent HP externally with customers, NGOs, industry consortia, and regulators.
- Maintain HP’s leadership position by anticipating regulatory trends and shaping pre-competitive industry action.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Sustainability, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Environmental Science, Business, or related field.
- 15+ years of experience in sustainability, supply chain operations, responsible sourcing, climate strategy, or related disciplines.
- Demonstrated executive-level leadership of enterprise sustainability programs across global value chains.
- Deep expertise in: Climate and carbon management (GHG Protocol, SBTi), Responsible sourcing and supplier due diligence, Sustainability data, controls, and reporting frameworks (CDP, DJSI, TCFD, SASB, CSRD)
- Strong understanding of product life cycles and supplier ecosystems in complex, global industries.
- Proven ability to translate complex technical and regulatory topics into clear business and leadership insights.
- Experience with carbon offsets/credits, developing long-term, high-quality community/forestry partnerships, and leading forestry standards such as Verra VCS is a plus.
- Experience with emerging carbon capture technologies is also a plus.
- Ability to translate complex concepts/data into simple to understand business reports and meaningful leadership insights.
- Strong business acumen – ability to define problems and translate findings into a clear business case with tangible analysis.
