About the role
- Leads functional project teams of other quality engineers and internal and outsourced development and manufacturing partners.
- Leads the team in design and integration of quality requirements, processes, and practices into the development, design, manufacturing, and continuous improvement of products and solutions.
- Expands relationships with internal and outsourced partners for quality, product manufacturing and development.
- Reviews and evaluates product and solution designs and production activities for potential quality issues.
- Provides tangible feedback based on results and root-cause analysis and implements solutions to improve product quality and mitigate risk of failures.
- Performs overall tracking and reporting of various quality related performance metrics.
- Provides domain-specific expertise and product engineering leadership and perspective to cross-organization projects, programs, and activities.
- Drives innovation and integration of new technologies and quality initiatives into projects and activities in the manufacturing engineering organization.
- Applies advanced subject matter knowledge, and contributes to other complex projects, and exercises independent judgment in resolving business issues and establishing policies.
- Provides mentoring and guidance to less-experienced staff members to set an example of quality engineering design and development, innovation, and excellence.
Requirements
- Four-year or Graduate Degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
- Typically has 7-10 years of work experience, preferably in quality assurance, reliability, or a related field.
