About the role
- Supervise a team of claims executives and provide guidance and support as needed
- Reporting line manager for the Claims team members
- Performance management of claims team
- Hiring and building out the team to meet business ambitions
- Team member training / support / coaching / mentoring
- Optimising the culture within the claims team
- Drive process improvement
- Build a suite of management information to support claims decision making
- Build robust working relationships with key insurers
- Build robust working relationships with internal trading teams
- Use their feedback to improve claims team performance
- Expand the remit of the claims team to support other trading teams across the Howden Ireland business
- Support the trading team with client engagement as required
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to improve efficiency and the quality of the claims handling processing
- Communicate with clients, stakeholders and other departments to manage claims effectively
Requirements
- 5+ years relevant experience within the insurance industry, working in a claims environment and ideally at a Team Lead or Manager level
- Minimum CIP qualification in insurance
- Demonstrated ability to inspire, motivate, and effectively manage teams in a dynamic environment
- Skilled in providing guidance and support for professional growth, fostering a culture of continuous learning
- Maintains a high level of integrity and upholds strong ethical principles in all professional interactions
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with a proven track record of building and maintaining client trust and satisfaction
- Embraces creative problem-solving, works collaboratively across functions, and consistently delivers results
