About the role
- Lead and manage mechanical design efforts for complex projects, ensuring alignment with program requirements and standards
- Lead and manage the execution of customer programs
- Provide advanced problem-solving and technical guidance in design meetings and onsite situations
- Attend and contribute to project turnover meetings, functional design reviews, and system design reviews
- Consult on system architecture, functional specifications, and interface documents
- Drive process improvement initiatives and identify procedural/tool enhancements
- Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, including high-risk assignments, with little or no supervision
- Ensure proper documentation, drawing standards, and update practices are followed
- Develop, deliver, and maintain technical training activities for the team
- Monitor project progress and address mechanical risks
- Support and consult with Sales, Marketing, and other engineering disciplines
- Participate in lessons learned and post-mortem engineering reviews, providing expertise and historical perspective
- May be required to perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics
- At least 6 years of progressive Mechanical Engineering experience, including leadership of complex projects and increasing responsibility
- Technical proficiency in mechanical design, risk management, and process improvement
- Up to 30% travel may be necessary
