About the role

  • The Assistant Security Manager supports the overall leadership and daily operations of the Security Department at WarHorse Gaming Omaha.
  • This role is responsible for supervising Security team members, ensuring a safe and secure environment for guests and team members, and protecting company assets.
  • This position serves as a developmental leadership role, preparing the incumbent to transition into a Security Manager position by gaining hands-on experience in departmental planning, compliance, and operational oversight.
  • Oversees daily security operations to ensure safety, security, and compliance with all company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Supervises, assigns, and directs Security Officers based on operational needs, skills, and experience.
  • Monitors team performance, provides coaching, and addresses performance concerns to maintain high standards.
  • Assists in planning, implementing, and evaluating security programs and departmental initiatives.
  • Leads and supports investigations, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Conducts routine patrols to identify and mitigate potential risks or safety concerns.
  • Maintains security systems, including key control and access procedures.
  • Prepares detailed incident, investigation, and activity reports in a timely manner.
  • Assists with recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, and disciplinary actions within the department.
  • Supports performance management processes, including evaluations and development planning.
  • Collaborates with leadership on strategic initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
  • Acts as a professional representative of the property when interacting with guests, team members, and external partners.
  • Coordinates with law enforcement and regulatory agencies when necessary.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or a related field; or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of casino security experience required
  • At least three (3) years of supervisory or leadership experience required
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related systems
  • Previous casino or resort experience preferred.
