About the role
- The Assistant Security Manager supports the overall leadership and daily operations of the Security Department at WarHorse Gaming Omaha.
- This role is responsible for supervising Security team members, ensuring a safe and secure environment for guests and team members, and protecting company assets.
- This position serves as a developmental leadership role, preparing the incumbent to transition into a Security Manager position by gaining hands-on experience in departmental planning, compliance, and operational oversight.
- Oversees daily security operations to ensure safety, security, and compliance with all company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Supervises, assigns, and directs Security Officers based on operational needs, skills, and experience.
- Monitors team performance, provides coaching, and addresses performance concerns to maintain high standards.
- Assists in planning, implementing, and evaluating security programs and departmental initiatives.
- Leads and supports investigations, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Conducts routine patrols to identify and mitigate potential risks or safety concerns.
- Maintains security systems, including key control and access procedures.
- Prepares detailed incident, investigation, and activity reports in a timely manner.
- Assists with recruiting, hiring, training, scheduling, and disciplinary actions within the department.
- Supports performance management processes, including evaluations and development planning.
- Collaborates with leadership on strategic initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
- Acts as a professional representative of the property when interacting with guests, team members, and external partners.
- Coordinates with law enforcement and regulatory agencies when necessary.
Requirements
- Associate degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or a related field; or equivalent work experience
- Minimum of five (5) years of casino security experience required
- At least three (3) years of supervisory or leadership experience required
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related systems
- Previous casino or resort experience preferred.
