About the role
- Lead all phases of medium to large projects from planning through construction
- Oversee budgeting, scheduling, design development, specifications, and construction documents
- Maintain strong client relationships and resolve architectural challenges
- Direct and monitor project activities and serve as primary client contact
- Coach, mentor, and provide performance-enhancing feedback of assigned team members
- Prepare evaluations and meet with personnel to discuss performance
- Manage up to six team members for all phases of projects
- Write meeting minutes, change orders, and RFI responses
- Review agreements with clients and consultants
- Write RFPS and negotiate contracts with clients and consultants
- Prepare and manage work plans, budgets, staffing projections, and fees for large projects
- Collaborate with design and production staff, construction administrator, and consultants
- Ensure design intent is maintained through all phases and manage design quality
- Review documents for code compliance and issue interpretations
Requirements
- Architectural degree from an accredited university or equivalent demonstrated proficiency
- Minimum of seven (7) years experience in production and coordination of documents in all phases of architectural practice and in management of small projects desired
- Able to listen and communicate effectively and professionally
- Display willingness to make decisions; exhibit sound and accurate judgment
- Ability to correspond effectively with agencies, consultants, and clients
- Ability to write and edit specifications
- Set goals, prioritize, and plan work activities for self-management and use time efficiently
- Estimate hours for assigned tasks and finish tasks within agreed upon budget hours for the task
