About the role
- Support Hitachi Energy’s Grid Automation by helping utilities, industrial operators, and infrastructure customers adopt advanced automation and communication technologies
- Engage customers across the full sales cycle, build meaningful relationships, and position solutions that help power grid operate more safely and efficiently
- Achieve and exceed assigned sales quotas by developing new business and expanding existing accounts in the western region
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships
- Proactively address challenges and drive deals to closure
- Develop and manage a robust sales pipeline using CRM tools
- Collaborate with internal teams to deliver comprehensive solutions and maximize market impact
- Identify and pursue new market opportunities leveraging competitive intelligence and technical expertise
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field (MBA a plus)
- 7+ years of technical sales experience (preferably in automation, protection, or communication systems)
- Proven track record of quota attainment and new business development
- Deep knowledge of substation automation, protective relays, RTUs, and wireless communication
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Experience with CRM tools and structured sales processes
- Willingness to travel extensively within the western US
