About the role

  • Support Hitachi Energy’s Grid Automation by helping utilities, industrial operators, and infrastructure customers adopt advanced automation and communication technologies
  • Engage customers across the full sales cycle, build meaningful relationships, and position solutions that help power grid operate more safely and efficiently
  • Achieve and exceed assigned sales quotas by developing new business and expanding existing accounts in the western region
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships
  • Proactively address challenges and drive deals to closure
  • Develop and manage a robust sales pipeline using CRM tools
  • Collaborate with internal teams to deliver comprehensive solutions and maximize market impact
  • Identify and pursue new market opportunities leveraging competitive intelligence and technical expertise

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field (MBA a plus)
  • 7+ years of technical sales experience (preferably in automation, protection, or communication systems)
  • Proven track record of quota attainment and new business development
  • Deep knowledge of substation automation, protective relays, RTUs, and wireless communication
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
  • Experience with CRM tools and structured sales processes
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the western US
