About the role

  • Perform field service, troubleshooting, and maintenance on HVDC and FACTS systems
  • Support commissioning of new installations and upgrades
  • Lead customer training on control systems and station operations
  • Collaborate with warranty and project teams to resolve technical issues
  • Provide remote and on-site customer support across North America and abroad
  • Promote Hitachi Energy solutions during site visits and identify new opportunities
  • Ensure safety protocols are followed during all field activities
  • Mentor junior engineers and share technical expertise
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical Engineering preferred)
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in substations or industrial electrification
  • Strong understanding of electrical safety and compliance standards
  • Hands-on experience with substation equipment and control systems
  • Familiarity with power electronics and HVDC/FACTS technologies is a plus
  • Ability to travel up to 80% and work independently in field environments
  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States
