About the role
- Perform field service, troubleshooting, and maintenance on HVDC and FACTS systems
- Support commissioning of new installations and upgrades
- Lead customer training on control systems and station operations
- Collaborate with warranty and project teams to resolve technical issues
- Provide remote and on-site customer support across North America and abroad
- Promote Hitachi Energy solutions during site visits and identify new opportunities
- Ensure safety protocols are followed during all field activities
- Mentor junior engineers and share technical expertise
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical Engineering preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in substations or industrial electrification
- Strong understanding of electrical safety and compliance standards
- Hands-on experience with substation equipment and control systems
- Familiarity with power electronics and HVDC/FACTS technologies is a plus
- Ability to travel up to 80% and work independently in field environments
- Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States
