About the role
- Provide support to the Production, Purchasing, and Planning departments
- Implement design improvements to standard machines and accessories
- Modify and update Bills of Materials (BOMs) and routers according to production needs
- Responsible for revision control
- Design, create, and document jigs and fixtures
- Drive cost reduction initiatives
- Implement corrections and updates to existing drawings and BOMs
- Specify and source new or alternative engineering components
- Carry out other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Post-secondary diploma or certificate in Drafting, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field
- Relevant experience with Unifiller equipment preferred
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong knowledge of Kaizen and lean manufacturing methods
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and MS Office
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems
- Excellent knowledge of pneumatic control systems
- Ability to create and interpret engineering drawings
