About the role

  • Develops the Project Control strategy, plans and procedures
  • Works closely with the Projects Managers to complete Projects on time and within approved budget
  • Covers the role of Cost Engineer managing and reporting on all cost control matters
  • Supports Project Manager's decision-making process with necessary information
  • Creates a schedule/cost/risk awareness and education among project participants
  • Organises integration between scheduling, cost control, and risk management functions
  • Identifies resources and organisation needed to achieve control strategy
  • Implements the Project Controls System
  • Establishes overall work breakdown structure and relevant coding system
  • Prepares Master Schedule and internal Control Budget and Cash Flow
  • Coordinates preparation of Risk and Opportunity Management Plan
  • Ensures maintenance of Project Controls System during execution phase
  • Assures monthly issue of Project Status Report (PSR)
  • Assists Project Manager with contract changes/claims process
  • Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and budget

Requirements

  • Engineering /technician qualification
  • Project management qualification
  • Microsoft Office package qualification (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Project Controls package experience (P6, MS Project, cost control)
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience working within a Project Controls environment.
  • Proven track record of delivering on projects from inception to financial close and completion / operational stage.
  • Presentation skills, ability to create and deliver high quality proposals and speak with credibility to project team, Senior management, and contractors on technical subjects.
  • Excellent persuasion skills, a good networker, and a good negotiator.
  • Excellent IT skills with the ability to report project status and issues to a high standard.
