About the role
- Act as a DevOps evangelist, embedding DevOps principles across engineering teams
- Lead and mentor a small team of DevOps engineers, fostering a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Partner with engineering leadership to align infrastructure and delivery practices with business goals
- Define and execute the DevOps and cloud roadmap
- Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure (primarily GCP, with openness to Azure)
- Ensure environments are secure, scalable, highly available, and cost-optimized
- Optimize the full infrastructure, with a focus on modernizing, hardening security and enhancing monitoring.
- Build and maintain robust CI/CD pipelines to automate build, test, and deployment workflows
- Champion Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to ensure reproducible and auditable environments
- Drive automation across infrastructure provisioning, application delivery, and operational tasks
- Implement and manage monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to ensure system health and performance
- Define and enforce security best practices across the development lifecycle
- Support incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous reliability improvements
Requirements
- Strong experience with GCP (preferred) or Azure
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Cloud Build
- Strong knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes (GKE or equivalent)
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet
- Scripting and automation skills using Python, Bash, or equivalent
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK
- Solid understanding of cloud networking and security best practices
- Experience supporting relational and/or NoSQL databases in cloud environments
- Proven experience mentoring or leading DevOps engineers
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly
- Ownership-driven, proactive, and pragmatic approach to problem solving
- Detail-oriented with a strong focus on reliability and system quality
- Comfortable working autonomously while collaborating across teams
- Passion for optimization, automation, and continuous learning.
