About the role
- Responsible for prospecting to and placing orders over the phone for Henry Schein customers in the University, K-12, Physical Therapy and Professional Sport Team space.
- The Schools and Athletics Account Representative maintains internal relationships and develops relationships with vendor partners by attending vendor product training sessions/fairs and chair-sides, learning product details and key selling points.
- Responsible for resolving any after sale questions or concerns and answering product-related technical questions from customers.
- Works with partnered Field Sales Consultant to manage assigned territory.
- Utilizes consultative sales techniques with the goal of consistently achieving 100% Sales and Gross Profit each quarter.
- Process bid/quote requests and plans new facility build outs.
- Works with bid department to expedite larger bid requests.
- Responsible for remaining aware and knowledgeable of promotional programs and merchandising-marketing approaches by reading marketing communications and utilizing intranet tools provided.
- Works with support departments (Credit, Customer Service, Verification and Customer Care) to assist customer with order status, product returns, pricing discrepancies and inquiries on account balance.
- Works with Inventory management, NSI group, Technical Support, Equipment Specialists to assist with customers ordering items the company does not typically stock and must purchase directly from the vendor.
- Understands and effectively uses and manages various communication, reporting and analytical tools provided to increase customer satisfaction and Gross Profit/Sales results.
- Partners with Credit Department in collecting past due balances from customers by suggesting alternative payment methods, such as credit cards.
- Attends and participates in sales meetings, training programs and conventions as required.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required.
Requirements
- Strong selling, customer service and negotiation skills.
- Good telephone etiquette with the ability to call out to and answer high volume of calls and electronic communication.
- Ability to effectively answer inquiries and resolve disputes.
- Ability to learn applicable computer systems.
- Ability to work both independently with limited supervision, and to work as a contributor to the team.
