About the role

  • Hello Sunshine is seeking a Director, Social Media to work in a hands-on-role to develop and execute the strategy for Sunnie, the new Gen Z digital community and lifestyle brand.
  • Lead strategic planning, development, ongoing execution and management of social media activities for brands.
  • Author and oversee social media content creation, planning, and execution ensuring alignment with business, editorial, and audience goals.
  • Ensure content aligns with brand voice and obtain necessary approvals and briefs.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to assist with tentpoles, events and company-wide initiatives.
  • Define and develop performance goals to optimize social media efforts daily and integrate learnings.
  • Analyze campaign results and audience behavior to inform strategies.
  • Present strategies, analysis, and key learnings to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging social media platforms and seek opportunities to innovate.
  • Identify industry trends and opportunities to increase brands’ share of voice.
  • Lead, manage, and mentor team; provide communication and growth paths.

Requirements

  • Experience running social media for a global brand, media company, agency, or publishing entity.
  • Experience growing audiences and developing growth tactics for global brands.
  • Significant experience with talent-led brands and directing social campaigns to support experiential, commerce, and IP launches.
  • Experience maintaining and growing social audiences across multiple platforms.
  • Self-starter and creative thinker with astute attention to detail; able to work on tight deadlines.
  • Well-versed in current and emerging social platforms, their products, and trends.
  • Creative thinker capable of conceptualizing and presenting big ideas and new formats.
  • An eye for visual design and ability to capture and curate best-in-class social content.
  • Strong writing and editorial skills.
  • Passionate about pop culture, STEM, mentorship, DIY, activism and Gen Z culture.
  • A lover of storytelling with a passion for centering and advancing female narratives.
  • Experience using marketing tools like Google business, Canva, CapCut, Premiere, Sprinklr, Sprout Social, Later.
  • Experience leading and managing direct reports.
