About the role
- Manage and support core benefit programs including Leaves of Absence, Employee Accommodations, Workers’ Compensation, and Tuition Reimbursement.
- Partner with the Corporate Benefits team to administer programs such as open enrollment, new hire orientation, and compliance reporting.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations including FLSA, ERISA, ACA, and other applicable laws.
- Oversee accurate leave tracking and payroll reporting, collaborating closely with HR Operations to ensure proper deductions and documentation.
- Analyze Hearst Magazines–specific benefits offerings to assess competitiveness, equity, and overall value.
- Serve as a trusted resource to employees and managers, providing guidance on benefits policies and processes with clarity and professionalism.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in benefits management and administration.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws related to employee benefits.
- Proficiency in HRIS systems and Excel; experience with Oracle and data analysis tools is a plus.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Clear and thoughtful communication skills, with the ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion and professionalism.
- Strategic mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Hybrid schedule: 4 days per week in the New York City office.
