About the role

  • Participate as an active member of the Regional Staff Development, IP&C team.
  • Work closely with others in infection control, health services and support programs in the development, implementation, coordination and evaluation of IP &C strategies.
  • Assume responsibility for collaborative planning, development, coordination, implementation, and evaluation of the Regional IP&C program.
  • Function under the goals, objectives, core values and policies of Southern Health-Santé Sud.
  • Include resource development with elements of research application and integration, and policy and procedure development as it relates to safe patient care.

Requirements

  • Minimum five (5) years full time nursing experience, including 2 years in IP&C.
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in adult education.
  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Certificate in Infection Prevention & Control or willingness to acquire.
  • Current active practice registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM).
  • Canadian Safety Association (CSA) Standards Certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
  • Knowledge of the principles of adult education, teaching and learning strategies.
  • Current knowledge in epidemiology, microbiology, statistics and infection control best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Knowledge of policy development and implementation.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster a collaborative interdisciplinary environment that supports quality services/quality improvement and staff empowerment.
