About the role
- Establish and maintain liaison with health professionals, community groups and organizations involved in issues related to community development;
- Collaborate with peers from other organizations and community members to support, plan, design, implement and evaluate programs and services based on identified community needs;
- Participate in coordinating activities with relevant programs and services of the Health Centre;
- Refer any request from a client group or an organization to the appropriate programs or resources;
- Review research reports and documents on community health and the social determinants of health;
- Stay informed about social development resources available in the community and share this information with colleagues;
- Prepare statistical data on community activities;
- Ensure compliance with all organizational policies, procedures and standards, as well as applicable external legislative, regulatory, accreditation and professional requirements;
- Perform other tasks and functions related to the job description.
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills in French and English, both spoken and written;
- Degree from a recognized university in health, social sciences or a related discipline;
- Three years' experience in community development or community mobilization;
- Experience in program design, implementation and evaluation is an asset;
- Leadership and change-management skills;
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and interdisciplinary collaboration skills;
- Conflict-resolution skills;
- Knowledge of basic computer applications: Microsoft Outlook, Word and Office; advanced Excel skills;
- Ability to manage stressful situations;
- Ability to work a variable schedule to attend meetings and activities outside regular working hours;
- Access to a vehicle suitable for the duties of the position and ability to use it when required;
- Possible exposure to infectious diseases, noise and allergens.
