About the role

  • Provides expert consultation and guidance to Physiotherapy staff in the area of specialty through clinical leadership, mentoring, education, evaluation and research.
  • Provides quality Physiotherapy Services including assessment, intervention, program planning and implementation, discharge planning and follow-up.
  • Contributes to the delivery of quality specialty Physiotherapy services by examining, developing, refining and evaluating the specialty body of knowledge and care practices.
  • Identifies “non-compliance to treatment standards” to manager.
  • Provides educational programs to students, other healthcare professionals and within the community.

Requirements

  • Minimum three years' of recent, clinical experience, of which one year must be in the specialty area.
  • Baccalaureate degree in Physiotherapy or approved equivalent, required.
  • Post-graduate degree in a Physiotherapy related field or equivalent preferred.
  • Successful completion of relevant professional education in designated areas required.
  • Licensed to practice Physiotherapy in the Province of Manitoba.
  • Current registration with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association required.
  • Current registration/participation with an appropriate specialty organization/interest group required where applicable.
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements for this position shall be in accordance with the Employer policy.
