About the role
- Create and execute arresting jacket and interior designs
- Follow design workflow and adhere to tight deadlines
- Prepare mechanical files and production-ready layouts for print, coordinate with the production team
- Participate in group creative discussions
- Collaborate and liaise effectively with creators and in-house departments
- Archive files into DAM
- Create dummies/mockups and sales materials for presentations
- Provide general administrative support including coding and processing invoices
Requirements
- A college degree or equivalent work experience required
- 1+ years of relevant work experience
- A proven ability to envision and execute outstanding design
- Strong typographic skills; Hand-lettering skills a plus
- Understanding of comic book techniques and conventions
- Knowledge of current trends in graphic novel field
- Understanding of manga a plus
- Strong organization, time management and communication skills
- Thorough knowledge and experience with InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, ClipStudio and related applications
- Knowledge of children’s and young adult publishing field a plus
- Passion for graphic novels a must
